BE THE FIRE

That’s what we were told and I have the t-shirt to prove it!

I attended the Igniting Souls Conference in Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend and it was Ahmazing! As always!

Why is this important for you?

As a coach and an entrepreneur, this conference, the contacts, and the skills, will serve to grow me into a better coach and entrepreneur for you! I did this for me so that I can coach you with excellence. This is just one of the groups that I align myself with in a perpetual effort to continue to grow as a person and as a coach. You will reap the benefits of this conference, too!

What is the Igniting Souls Conference?

There’s this bald guy with a girl’s name, Kary Oberbrunner, a coaches coach and the Chief Igniter, who has created a community of authors and entrepreneurs around the central idea of being a “soul on fire.” In fact, his mission is to ignite one million souls by 2020. What does that mean exactly? It means that Kary is absolutely dedicated and committed to guiding others into living a life on fire for the passions, dreams, and desires that stir their hearts. It means showing up, filled up. Every day. Saint Ignatius of Loyola said:

The glory of God is man fully alive

That is overriding principle of the Igniting Souls Tribe Conference and Kary Oberbrunner. More details from the conference below.  But first, let’s take a look at who Kary Oberbrunner is as a person and a leader.

The Real Kary Oberbrunner

I first met Kary last year on a webinar about publishing a book. In that webinar, he taught us how to write and publish a manifesto, which I did. Because I have desired to write a book for many years (and the book I wrote is not the one I thought I would write… that one will come one day), I was intrigued because I had no idea what to do or how to go about getting my work published. He explained his methods, his publishing company Author Academy Elite, and I thought, “Yes, I can do this!”

I have watched many webinars on various topics over the years, but this one was different. Kary was different. I immediately felt drawn to him and his mission. (I did Google him after the webinar to affirm my intuition. I found absolutely nothing negative. Whew!) I applied, was accepted, and here I am now, 18 months later, a published author! I have an important message to share and because of Kary’s dedication to helping others be souls on fire, I now have a new avenue in which to do that.

As I worked with Kary and interacted with the tribe he has created, I was blown away and I knew that I had made the right decision and I am so grateful that I accepted the call that day.

What have I learned about Kary and what makes him such a successful, trustworthy coach?

Kary:

  • Embodies and epitomizes servant leadership
  • Walks the talk
  • Is genuine, sincere, authentic, and vulnerable
  • Serves by adding value to our lives each and every day, selflessly
  • Sows seeds into us
  • Gives 110%, 110% of the time
  • Doesn’t make promises that he can’t keep
  • Doesn’t ask us to do anything that he hasn’t already done himself
  • Has created a community of like-minded people who encourage and support one another

Kary is someone I want to emulate.

A Unique Experience

Amazing. Incredible. Phenomenal. Fantastic. Edifying. Informative. Practical. FUN. Supportive. Encouraging. And about 15 other adjectives!  It is unlike any other conference I have ever attended. I’ll bet it’s unlike any conference you’ve ever attended.

Kary aligns himself with the speakers who are like-minded and of similar character. Each of these speakers came in, poured their best teachings into us and stayed throughout the conference and were available to answer questions, brainstorm, and continue to give of themselves.  This doesn’t happen at other conferences.

  • If you ever get the opportunity to hear Dexter Godfrey speak, DO IT! You are sure to not only be highly entertained, but come away with profound insight. A true wordsmith!
  • Brian Dixon and Mike Kim gave us their BEST strategies for growing our business. Practical and actionable steps we can take today.
  • Amy Schmittauer is just amazing!
  • David Branderhorst is Kary’s business partner and he is like a walking encyclopedia; information just tumbles out of his brain and into us. He’s incredible.
  • Kyle Snyder, Olympic wrestling gold medalist, told his amazing story of discipline, love for, and dedication to his sport along with his coach Tom Ryan. It was inspiring!!

Each of these speakers and presenters poured into us this weekend. They encouraged us. They gave us their best without pitching us.  I’m still processing.

Not only did we learn TONS of usable, applicable, doable strategies, but we also had fun!

The atmosphere is one of positive, high energy. Imagine 200 plus people, all speaking positively, all edifying, encouraging, and supporting each other. The energy in the room is palpable!

In fact, at each table there was a toy fireman’s hat and if anyone began to speak negatively, they had to wear the hat. I think I need to get one for my office as a reminder to stay positive and avoid negative self-talk!

Kary has created a community of like-minded individuals who are some of the most amazing, wonderful people I have ever met. We have become like family, but from around the world. We have known each other virtually for a while, but to meet them in person and form life-long friendships, ministry and business partners, is truly unique. Last year, a group of six other women and myself formed a women’s ministry, Courageously Free Women. It is through this community that we met and it is through this community that God knit our hearts together to serve.

Imagine a room full of people encouraging, supporting, and praying with each other. It is an amazing experience and it is unlike any community or conference you will ever attend.

I look forward to the coming year and implementing all that I have learned this weekend and I look forward to next year when I get to experience it again and see the life-long friends I have made from around the world!
